A Cooperative of the Grison Garde Community and the Robert Ford Haitian Orphanage & School Foundation
About UsThe RN Ford Haitian Orphanage and School Foundation (also known as the "Maranatha") is a cooperative effort led by community members in Grison Garde, Haiti. It was founded in 2001 by Dr. Raymond Ford and named in honor of his father, Robert, the founding donor. The work of the Foundation is only possible thanks to the faith and determination of our Haitian friends and the generous support of individual donors and partner organizations in the United States.

Orphanage & School
The Centre Orphelinat Marantha de La Victoire (Maranatha) is in the rural community of Grison Garde, near the city of Cap-Haitien. It now includes the original orphanage, primary school and kitchen, plus a middle and high school, a large vocational school, a cafeteria, a computer center and more. Including Maranatha and other community schools that rely on its support, the RN Ford Foundation provides education and a daily meal to about 2500 children in northern Haiti.

Community ProjectsThe Foundation's efforts extend well beyond the walls of the orphanage and school. Current and past projects include a village for homeless elderly, wells drilled in remote areas, food relief to needy families, a year-round medical clinic and college scholarships. The Foundation also supports numerous projects through other humanitarian groups, including New Hope Hospital and the Haiti Mission (just down the road from Maranatha), through which Dr. Ford was introduced to Haiti.

Provide Clean Water
Access to clean water for drinking and bathing helps prevent the spread of disease. The people of Grison-Garde have the skills and the manpower to build new wells where they are lacking. They just need the funding to make them a reality.
